Server Metric Profile

Use Metric Profile to define the performance monitoring metrics to be collected from your servers. By selecting a profile, you control which data is collected and fine-tune server monitoring across different environments.

What is a Metric Profile?

A Metric Profile is a custom configuration that lets you select the metrics to be collected from servers associated to the profile. The server monitoring agent will collect only the metrics specified in the associated metric profile.

Metric Profiles ensure your server is monitored appropriately based on its workload and criticality.

How to create a Metric Profile

You can create a Metric Profile via two methods:

  • Method 1: Navigate to Admin > Configuration Profiles > + icon next to Metric Profile or Metric Profile > Add Metric Profile.
  • Method 2: Navigate to Servers > hamburger Hamburger Icon icon next to the server monitor > Edit > + icon next to the Metric Profile drop-down menu.

In the Metric Profile window that opens,

  1. Select Server Monitor from the Profile Type drop-down menu.
  2. Provide an apt Display Name for identification.
  3. Select the metrics you want to monitor under each Metric Type.
  4. Click Save.

How to apply a Metric Profile to server monitor(s)

To associate a metric profile to a server monitor:

  1. Click the hamburger Hamburger Icon icon next to the server monitor.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. In the Edit Server Monitor page, select the appropriate Metric Profile from the drop-down menu.
  4. Click Save.

To associate a metric profile with multiple server monitors automatically, use Configuration Rules.
