Performance metrics of a wireless LAN controller
After you add a wireless LAN controller (WLC) monitor, Site24x7 will start collecting the performance metrics of your WLC device to analyze the connections. You can set thresholds for these metrics to receive alerts if any of the limits are breached. This ensures that you stay in control and are notified if anything goes wrong.
Summary
View high-level performance stats of the WLC over the selected time range.
Metric | Description |
---|---|
Availability | Uptime percentage of the WLC. |
Downtimes | Number of outages and total downtime duration. |
Response Time | Average SNMP response time from the WLC. |
CPU Utilization | Indicates the percentage of CPU used by the WLC, helping identify performance bottlenecks. |
Memory Utilization | Shows the percentage of memory used on the WLC device. |
Inventory Details | Lists the WLC's hardware and software attributes: • Device Name • Vendor • Device Model • WLC Name • MAC Address • Serial Number • Hardware Version • Software Version • System Description • Max AP Count • Max Client Count |
SSID
Analyze SSID-specific usage and client metrics.
Column | Description |
---|---|
SSID | Name of the SSID. |
Number of Access Points | Count of APs broadcasting the SSID. |
Clients Connected | Number of clients connected to the SSID. |
Traffic Usage | Total bandwidth consumed under each SSID. |
Access Points
Lists all APs discovered through the WLC and their key operational data.
Column | Description |
---|---|
Name | Name of the access point. |
IP Address | Assigned IP address of the AP. |
MAC Address | MAC address of the AP. |
Channels | Operating channels of the AP. |
Monitored | Status showing if the AP is actively monitored. Click the plus icon + to start monitoring the access point. |
Discovered
Lists all access points that have been automatically detected from the WLC.
Use case:
This view helps identify new or recently provisioned APs that have come online under the WLC monitor.
Unmapped
Shows APs that were previously mapped to the current WLC monitor and are now not found under the WLC monitor in the latest poll.
Use case:
This view is useful for identifying missing or removed APs and validating if reconfiguration or cleanup is required.
