Monitor Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Endpoint in Huawei Cloud

Site24x7 monitors Huawei Cloud's Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) Endpoint metrics, with insights into traffic rates, connections, packet flow, and reset activity, that helps you to detect bandwidth issues and connection anomalies early.

Use cases

Bandwidth control: Monitor inbound and outbound rates to prevent traffic drops. This allows for timely scaling before capacity limits affect connectivity.

Connection stability: Track active connections and RST packets to detect unstable services. This helps identify backend issues before they result in errors for clients.

Packet integrity: Minimize latency by tracking dropped packets. This enables early detection of overload conditions and helps prevent retransmissions.

Setup and configuration

VPC Endpoint resources are auto-discovered and monitored during the Huawei Cloud integration. To enable monitoring, follow the steps below:

  • Navigate to Cloud > Huawei > Add Huawei Monitor. Follow the steps to add a Huawei Cloud monitor.
  • While adding or editing a Huawei Cloud monitor, select VPC Endpoint from the Service/Resource Types drop-down and click Save.
  • Navigate to Cloud > Huawei, select the created Huawei monitor, and then click VPC Endpoint.

RST from ClientThe number of TCP RST packets received from the client side of the VPC Endpoint.Count
RST from ServerThe number of TCP RST packets received from the server side of the VPC Endpoint.Count
RST to ClientThe number of TCP RST packets sent to the client side of the VPC Endpoint.Count
RST to ServerThe number of TCP RST packets sent to the server side of the VPC Endpoint.Count

Threshold configuration

You can configure thresholds and alerts for all VPC Endpoint metrics to detect performance degradation proactively or connection issues.

  1. Go to Admin > Configuration Profiles > Threshold and Availability.
  2. Create or edit your Threshold Profile for VPC Endpoint.
  3. Assign the profile to the respective monitors to trigger alerts.

IT Automation

Use Site24x7's IT Automation to resolve common issues with VPC Endpoint performance:

  1. Go to Admin >IT Automation Templates. Then, click Add Automation Templates.
  2. Create an automation rule by selecting the automation Type (e.g., Server reboot, clear queue).
  3. Map the created rules to the VPC Endpoint, for automatic execution during alerts.

Configuration rules

Use Configuration Rules to simplify bulk setup across VPC Endpoint instances. Automatically assign Threshold Profiles, Notification Profiles, Tags, and Monitor Groups when new monitors are discovered.
