Add a FortiManager SD-WAN monitor

Connect a Fortinet FortiManager instance to Site24x7 to automatically discover and monitor every FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, and FortiExtender device it manages.

Prerequisites

  • A Fortinet FortiManager instance, with the FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, and FortiExtender devices you want to monitor registered to it.
  • Network connectivity between the Site24x7 On-Premise Poller and the FortiManager URL or IP address.
  • An API token generated from FortiManager, with read access to the ADOM(s) that contain the devices to be monitored.

Adding a FortiManager monitor

  1. Log in to Site24x7.
  2. Go to SDN > FortiManager. Then, click the plus icon + beside FortiManager.
  3. Enter the connection and alerting details as given below:
    • Display Name: A unique name to identify the FortiManager monitor in Site24x7.
    • FortiManager URL: The IP address or hostname of the FortiManager instance to monitor.
    • API Token: The API token generated from FortiManager. Site24x7 uses this to authenticate and discover the devices FortiManager manages.
    • Monitor Groups: The monitor group(s) to add this monitor.
    • Dependent on Monitor: A monitor that this FortiManager monitor depends on. Alerts for this monitor are suppressed when the selected monitor is down.
    • Threshold and Availability: The threshold profile that defines the poll frequency and alert conditions for the monitor.
    • Tags: Add tags to group and filter this monitor.
    • Execute IT Automation during Scheduled Maintenance: Select this to run configured IT automations during a scheduled maintenance window.
    • User Alert Group: The user group notified when an alert is triggered.
    • On-Call Schedule: The on-call schedule according to which the alerts are routed.
    • Notification Profile: The notification profile that defines how and when alerts are sent.
    • Services: Third-party integrations that alerts from this monitor are pushed to.
  4. Click Save.

Once saved, Site24x7 polls the FortiManager instance and discovers the FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch, and FortiExtender devices it manages. Discovery status is shown on the monitor's Summary tab.
