Performance metrics of VMware NSX-T Manager
View the performance metrics of your VMware NSX-T Manager to understand session activity and system health. This enables you to take proactive measures and enhance the efficiency of your VMware NSX-T environment setup. Add a VMware NSX-T Manager to get started with monitoring.
To view your configured VMware NSX-T Manager monitor in Site24x7:
- Navigate to Admin > Inventory > Monitors or go to VMware > NSX-T Resources > NSX-T Manager.
- Select the desired server to view the monitor health.
Interpreting VMware NSX-T Manager performance metrics
- Host Summary: This tab displays the total number of sessions (both active and idle) and their information at various time intervals. Provides a detailed overview of Management Node Details, configuration and performance details of Firewall policies, IP Pool, and Transport Zone Details.
- Firewall Configuration Details: Provides an overview of firewall policies configured in NSX-T Manager, that includes Firewall Policy Type, Category, Rule Count, Sequence Number, and Popularity Index.
- Firewall Performance Details: List of the real-time traffic statistics and performance metrics of firewall policies.
- IP Pool Details: Displays a detailed status of IP address pool utilization within the NSX environment.
- Transport Zone Details: Lists the Transport Zone Name, ID, Type, Number of Logical Switches, Number of Logical Ports, and Number of Logical Transport Nodes associated in the NSX-T Manager. This provides visibility into network scale and transport participation.
- Gateways: This tab displays the snapshot of NSX-T Gateway health and connectivity helping the administrators to quickly identify the traffic flow. The NSX-T Gateway are of two types, namely:
- Tier 0: Top-level routing gateway that connects the virtual environment to the physical or external network.
- Tier 1: Logical router gateway that connects application segments and workloads within the NSX environment.
- Edge Nodes: This tab displays an overview of the NSX-T Edge Node health, resource usage and connectivity ensures reliable traffic handling of NSX-T Node related network issues.
- Transport Node: This tab displays an overview of the NSX-T Transport Node health, memory utilization and connectivity ensuring stable and responsive NSX fabric.
Host Summary
Gateways
The Gateways tab displays the connectivity of VMware NSX-T Gateways. Clicking on the gateway name will open the performance metrics of the respective monitor.

Nodes
- Edge Nodes: This tab will provide you the status, management of server IP, load balancing, and memory utilization of edge nodes. On clicking on the edge node name will open the performance metrics of the respective monitor.
- Transport Nodes: This tab will provide an overview of the transport node health, capacity, and performance. Clicking on the transport node name will open the performance metrics of the respective transport node monitor.
