Discord Integration

Discord is a free communications social platform that helps you effectively collaborate with your team in real time. Site24x7's integration with Discord lets you instantly share your critical Site24x7 alerts (Down, Trouble, and Up), and RCA report permalinks through your Discord channels.

Setting up a Discord integration involves two steps: Generating a Hook URL in Discord, and integrating it with Site24x7.

Generate a Hook URL in Discord

Before you begin, make sure you're signed into your Discord account where you want to view notifications. Follow the steps listed below to generate the Hook URL:

1. Log in to Discord.
2. Click on your server and navigate to Server Settings.
3. Under Applications, select Integration.

   

4. You will now see the webhooks icon. Click on the Webhooks button.

   

5. Provide a name for the application and select the channel to which alerts should be posted. Click Save.
6. Now, the webhook has been added. Click Copy Webhook URL and paste it in the Site24x7 discord integration form.

Integrate Discord with Site24x7

Once, you've generated a Discord webhook URL, you must login to your Site24x7 account to complete the integration process. Follow the steps listed here:

1. Log in to Site24x7 account.
2. Navigate to Admin > Third-Party Integration.
3. Click the View Third-Party Integrations button. Pick Discord from the list.

   

4. Fill up the Discord Integration form to complete the integration process.

   Integration Name: Enter the name of your integration.

   Sender Name: Enter the name of the sender. You will receive messages in your Discord channel from this configured name.

   Hook URL: Paste the copied unique Discord webhook URL here.

   Message Title: Use the $ tags to customize the message title of your Site24x7 notification.

   Select Integration Level: You can post status alerts and RCA links to Discord channel from Monitors, All Monitors, Tags, and monitors associated with selected Monitor Groups. It is set to All Monitors, by default. It translates into a Global Integration where all alarms from your Site24x7 account are pushed to Discord channel.

   For tags associated to your monitor group that have monitors in the parent level and a few monitors in the subgroup level, alerts from only the parent monitors get logged in Discord channel.

   Tags to Be Sent With Alerts: Select the tag keys associated with the monitor that need to be sent with the alert. When an alert is triggered, tags that match with the monitor will be included in the alert notifications. If no tags are selected, all the tags associated with the monitor will be present in the alert notifications.

   Trigger Alerts for Monitor Status Changes: Enable or disable the toggle button to decide whether to log Down, Critical, and Trouble status alerts of monitors as messages in Discord channel.

5. Click the Save and Test button to save the integration and to receive a test alert. Or, you can click the Save button to finish the integration.

Suspend, Activate, or Delete Discord Integration

Follow the steps below to suspend an active Discord integration:

1. Log in to Site24x7.
2. Navigate to Admin > Third-Party Integration.
   All the integrations will be listed here in the Third-Party Integration dashboard.
3. You can also initiate a test alert to check whether the integration is a success or has any configuration error.
4. Click the active Discord integration that you want to suspend.
5. Click the Suspend button listed on the top right corner of the integration window. This will stop all alerts messages or RCA links from being sent to your designated Discord channel.

Deleting an Integration

To delete a Discord integration, follow the same steps listed above; then click the Delete button listed on the top right corner of your integration window. Once deleted, the Discord integration will be terminated permanently.

Receive Alerts and RCA in Discord Channel

Once the integration is completed, you'll start receiving Site24x7 incident messages and RCA permalinks in your specified Discord channel.
