Configuring Flow Exports on F5 Load Balancer

For NetFlow analysis, you need to configure your devices to export flows to Site24x7 On-Premise Poller, which is the NetFlow collector. The On-Premise Poller will be listening to the particular port to receive flows. Learn how to find the port number of your On-Premise Poller.

Configure F5 load balancers to export sFlow using the web interface by following the steps below:

  1. Log in to your F5 load balancer.
  2. From to the Main tab, go to SystemsFlow > Receiver List.
  3. In the sFlow screen that opens, click Add.
  4. In the New Receiver properties screen that opens, enter the following:
    • Name: Enter a name for the sFlow receiver.
    • Address: Enter the IPv4 or IPv6 address on which the sFlow receiver listens for UDP datagrams.
The IP address of the sFlow receiver must be reachable from a self IP address on the BIG-IP system.
    • From the State list, select Enabled.
  5. Click Finished.

Setting the sFlow polling interval for an interface

You can configure the sFlow polling interval for a specific interface, only if you are assigned either the Resource Administrator or Administrator user roles.

  1. From the Main tab, click Network > Interfaces > Interface List.
  2. From the Interface list, in the Name column, click an interface number.
  3. This displays the properties of the interface. From the Polling Interval list, select Specify, and type the maximum interval in seconds between polling by the sFlow agent of this interface.
  4. Click the Update button.
