vCenter Monitoring
Auto discover your entire virtual infrastructure through VMware vCenter and visualize critical metrics in one view.
Add a VMware vCenter Monitor
- Click Inventory > Admin > Monitors > Add Monitor.
- Select vCenter in Add Monitor page.
- Specify the following information to add the VMware vCenter monitor:
- Display Name: Specify a name to identify the vCenter.
- Host Name: Provide a host name where the vCenter server is running.
- Port: Specify the port number where the server is running.
- Username and Password: Mention the credentials for authentication purpose.
- Associate with Monitor Group: Select a monitor group from the drop down list to logically group your monitors.

- Location Profile: Select the location profile from the drop down list from where the vCenter can be monitored.
Note: VMware vCenter Monitor requires On-Premise location to be available.

- Auto Discover Virtual Machines: Use the toggle button to enable or disable the auto discovery of virtual machines.

- Specify the following details for Configuration Profiles:
- Notification Profile: Choose a notification profile from the drop down list or select the default profile available. Notification profile helps to configure when and who gets notified in case of downtime.
Refer Notification Profile to create a customized notification profile.
- Pager Duty: Send alerts to Pager Duty when your vCenter monitor is down/ trouble.
- User Groups: Select the user group that need to be alerted during a outage.
To add multiple users in a group, see User Groups.
- Actions: Select an action to be executed when the vCenter is down/trouble/up/any status change/any attribute change. The defined action gets executed when there is a state change and selected user groups are alerted.

- Click Submit.
