Outage Grouping/Tagging

Hi Site24x7 Team,

I use your services to audit and report on service outages. The cause of outages recognised by monitors can vary from the likes of local inclement weather, malfunctioning/damage to interconnect infrastructure, and manual intervention for testing and maintenance purposes. Each of these varying causes needs to be recognised in reporting as they require differing countermeasures. Currently, in my effort to produce a report on the outages, I manually group them, which can be timely and prone to human error.

I was hoping that, beyond the ability to mark an outage as maintenance, you could provide functionality that enables grouping/tagging of outages? Ideally, reporting produced could provide the same data currently provided for Outages generally, but specific to the various grouping or tags.

Hey there,

Thanks for the explanation. If I understand right, you need an outage report grouped by the reason for the outage and you want to ability to mark a custom reason for that outage.

Hi Jasper the rest of the Site24x7 Team,

Correct. I'm hoping Site24x7 could provide the functionality to produce reports and review/assess data that is not limited to the collective group of outages as it is now, but for outages that have been marked with a specific type of cause.

So a user would review all the outages, inputting causes in for the various outages events, then be able to filter (or order) outages by their cause, which produces data relevant to that subset/filter such as: number of individual outages with that cause, total time of outages with that cause, average time of outages with that cause, etc.

In the case of our monitors, outage causes would be: local inclement weather, malfunctioning/damage to interconnect infrastructure, manual intervention for testing/maintenance purposes, and more.

Hi there,

We are yet to start work on it. This is already in the task list for outage enhancements. Will take it up as part of the enhancements.

Hi,
We appreciate your feedback and are pleased to inform you that we have implemented the Bulk Action option, allowing you to conveniently manage multiple outages simultaneously. This feature enables you to add comments, delete selected outages, or mark them as maintenance in a streamlined manner.
In addition, we have introduced the Resource Type Filter, simplifying the process of adding outages directly and facilitating the identification of specific issues with precision.

These updates are aimed at enhancing your experience with our platform and addressing your requirements more efficiently. Should you have any further suggestions or if there's anything specific you'd like assistance with, please feel free to let us know.
Happy Monitoring!
