Mute a monitor or alert

Sometimes when a server or monitor is producing alerts and you want it to continue to monitor it. You don't want to suspend or place the monitor in maintenance. It would be nice to have a "mute" for a monitor or a "silence monitor for x minutes" option in the app and web.

Thanks

Hi,

We don't have an option for muting alert now. Can you give a usecase where mute is needed?

As an alternative you can use 'Downtime Notification Delay'. This setting which is available in Notification profile will help you avoid alerts for a certain period of time.

Admin -> Configuration Profiles -> Notification Profile is where you will find it. Once this is set for the monitor you will receive a notification only after the configured delay.

We have a few servers that we don't want to change their thresholds but from time to time, they max out CPU. It is normal operation but I would like to be able to silence the alerts without turning off monitoring or putting it in a maintenance mode.

Thanks

I tend to think that scheduling maintenance should function like mute.  I want to see what the monitors look like during a maint event, just don't want to be alerted.

Its available under Alarms tab. Alarms tab > top right ‘mute alerts’ button.
