Zombie Processes - CentOS

About 5 seconds after startup, the Site24x7 agent creates 40+ zombie processes, and then the system takes care of them eventually.  This happens sporadically, and seems to correlate to when polls run, and happens until the agent is shut down.

This is causing issues with process warning alerts, as the alerts happen repeatedly.  Please take a look and let us know if there is a bugfix.

Not ideal and difficult to adjust the alert for when they get this high this frequently.

Hi,

I request you to please zip the entire logs folder available under the monitoring agent installation directory and send that to "support@site24x7.com". This will help us to check and update you with our findings as soon as possible.

Rafee

Hi,

We have fixed the zombie process issue and released a new version of our monitoring agent online. Please navigate to the monitor's summary page and click on the upgrade icon to update a new version on the server.

Rafee,

We have seen no change in the number of zombie processes or frequency with the latest agent version.  We see this across the environment on many different Linux servers, over 200.  This issue does not appear to be addressed.  Is there any further information we can provide to help track this down?

Checking back in here.  Been a month since I reached back out that the latest agent does not resolve this issue.  Hoping we can at least get a response as to if this is prioritized and being actively worked on.

Thanks,
K
