[New Feature] Share and Discuss Site24x7 Incidents and Reports in Microsoft Teams

We're super excited to announce the launch of Site24x7's integration with Microsoft Teams, the chat-based workspace in Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem. The integration allows your IT and DevOps teams to have real-time and actionable conversations regarding specific Site24x7 incidents and root cause analysis reports in your Microsoft Teams channel.

Key Facets of Site24x7's Integration with Microsoft Teams:

Integrating Site24x7 with Microsoft Teams delivers the following benefits:

  • Receive instant status alerts from your selected Site24x7 monitors in your preferred Microsoft Teams channel.
  • Use actionable cards to view detailed incident reports.
  • Discuss, collaborate and resolve issues faster using RCA reports sent to your channel.
  • Customize the titles of your chat messages using default incident parameters or global parameters.

How to set up the Integration?

To successfully connect Site24x7 with Microsoft Teams, you must first have an active Office 365 subscription plan. Is there a way to set the dashboard tab to not require a login for Site24x7?

I've created an operational dashboard tab in teams for my users, but they can't see it as they need to login to Site24x7 first. It works for me fine, as I have a login. I'm not going to set up all my users with an account.

Either way, awesome work, and the dashboards look amazing in Teams.

Dear Sam,

For non-site24x7 users to see and dashboard and collaborate, the best way is to make the dashboard public. (This is not the best solution rather a workaround until we support it natively)

Here is how you can do it.

1. Make the Site24x7 dashboard public. To do this,

Navigate to your dashboard from Site24x7 client and click on the "Share this" button on the top right corner. Copy the permalink of the dashboard.

2. Add the public dashboard as a website in Tabs.

Goto Teams app > click on the + to add a new tab > Search for website > Add the permalink of the dashboard

I have integrated MS Teams Channel in with site24x7. I understand that I can list the status of a particular monitor or all the monitors via bot response. How can I list all the monitors or even better list monitor(s) with wildcard search capability such as "@site24x7 list monitors *server*". I can than ask the bot about the status of that particular monitor. It is not easy to remember the name of a monitor or monitor group when you have many. Wildcard listing capability would help.

Dear Ash,

That’s a great feature to have. Thanks for raising it here. I’ll make sure it’s added in our roadmap. Having said that if a monitor/monitor group “contains” part of the name or group we do list them. May be if you can try it and post the bot query we can improve based on that.

You can also send feedback directly to the bot. This will raise a support ticket and we will follow up.

Please do use it and give us your feedback if you come across usability issues we’ll be happy to oblige if it’s feasible.
