We recently purchased the network monitoring piece from site24x7.  We have 32 48 gig switches, both HP and Cisco accross multiple locations.  Many of the switches we are not utilizing all the ports, thus it is taking up many licenses for monitoring ports not in use and probably will never be in use.

Has anyone run into this issue?  At this point we have purchased 1000 and approximatly 300 licenses for monitoring are useless becuase the ports are not in use.  I would like to disable monitoring on the 300 but if something is plugged into one of the ports or is turned on we will never see the traffic.   Not sure if I am missing something or not with the setup but it would be nice if the ports are administrativly down that it would not count against our license count.
