Linux, Ubutnu. 24x7agent process, high memory usage.

Hi folks!  Looks like the process is taking up over 1.2gb of memory!  What’s the next step in finding out why?  Anyone else having the same issue?  I have plugins apache and mysql added in, as well as log monitoring.  I can start stripping those out to see if they have an effect.  Any suggestions are appreciated.  Thanks! Kris

Hi Kris,

Please drop in a mail to support@site24x7.com to further analyze the cause behind the high memory usage of the Site24x7 agent.

Also, do share with us the monitoring agent logs, that can be found in the path /opt/site24x7/monagent/logs and /opt/site24x7/monagent/logs/details

thanks! I reached out to support. But in the meantime, I figured out the issue and closed the case. I'll share the result here in case anyone else runs into this issue.

Webmin displays the virtual memory usage, not actual. The actual can be found be executing "top -Ss" from terminal.  That shows the site24x7 service using less than 100meg of memory.

Everything is good.  Thanks! Kris
