Configuration profiles can help edit default agent configurations like threshold values for traces, APDEX, sampling factor and more to suit your monitoring needs. 

Highlights:

1. You can apply the same configuration profile across multiple applications: You need not create or edit a profile whenever you add a new application. You can use the existing profile for multiple applications.

2. Avoid the hassle of instance-wise configuration: Since configuration profiles are executed at the application level, they are applied to application instances as well.
