Better AWS CloudWatch Integration

Hi,
do you have plans for a better AWS CloudWatch Integration?

At this time you import all EC2 and RDS Sources. I want to have a possiblity to define to import only selected based on manual choice or AWS Tag ...

I also would like to see other CloudWatch Metrics like ELB (Load Balancer), etc ...

Hi Sven,

We do support selected instances to be monitored. If you don't want to monitor certain EC2 instances, tag them using monitor_site24x7 as tag name and set it's value as false. Such tagged instances will not be added for monitoring. Please note that if it has already been added for monitoring, you will have to manually suspend such monitors using our web client, mobile app or REST APIs. Follow the help docs if you face any difficulties.

Note that currently, tag based selection is only supported for EC2 Instances and not for RDS Instances.

We are actively developing monitoring of other AWS services such as ELB, SNS Topics and they will be available soon.

What other AWS Services would you like to see in Site24x7? Tell us more about it and we will add them in our product roadmap.

Hi,

these CloudWatch Metrics would help a lot:

- ELB (App + Classic)
- EC2
- EBS
- RDS
- SQS
- DynamoDB
- Lambda

For the actual RDS Metrics ... the Metric "FreeStorageSpace" is important .. and especially to put an Alarm on that one .. but it is not possible at the moment!

Hi Sven,

We already gather "FreeStorageSpace" from CloudWatch but we show it as percentage instead of bytes for better visualization. We will support setting a threshold on it via threshold profile in our next update and it should be available in a week's time.

We already support major EC2 and RDS metrics, what other metrics you would like to see?

Additionally, what metrics you would like to see in DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda and EBS? Keep us posted, and we will add support for them in our future releases.

Hi Sven,

We have released the feature to set threshold on FreeStorageSpace percent.
You can configure a new threshold profile or edit an existing one. Whenever the FreeStorageSpace goes below the specified % value, you'll get Trouble alert. Here's a screen shot for your reference.

Let us know if you face any issues.

Very cool, that solves a lot of problems here for us!
Thanks.
