Azure Web App APM monitoring

Hi,

We have several Azure Web App deployments and would like to use Site24x7 APM monitoring.

Any plans to support Web Apps Extensions like several of your competitors (Newrelic, Stackify) have

Ps: Azure VM or Azure Service Deployment is not an option since these are pure Web apps deployments.

Can we make this a feature request?

Thanks.

We are working on getting this done in a couple of ways, Ole.

1. via Nuget packages -> You reference our dlls inside your web app so that the profiler and other dlls are placed in the web app folder for correct instrumentation at runtime. Since the CLR runtime first checks the current app path for dll loading.

2. Automate this referencing of dlls -> We instrument internal framework methods so the AssemblyResolve event resolves our Assembly locations and loads our dlls automatically.

We have our 1st one ready and we are working on the 2nd one. If you are interested in the 1st option, let me know I'll provide you the steps.

Hi,

Sorry to say that we haven't supported APM monitoring in Azure Web App Extensions yet. We are stuck with few issues in the manual steps itself and finding alternate ways to solve them.

Will keep this thread updated.

Raji.

Hi there,

We are putting together a monitoring service for our customers and deploying solutions in Azure PaaS. We need to be able to monitor those services, baseline and alert on exceptions. Is 24x7 capable of this yet?

Cheers,

Stu

We are yet to monitor Azure PaaS services out-of-the-box Stu.

"We need to be able to monitor those services" - What services would you like us to monitor?

What kind of exceptions would you want us to monitor? Are you talking about source code level Exceptions? If so, our APM Insight feature has capabilities to alert when Exceptions exceed a threshold.

Please free to get back to us.

Cheers,
Jasper
