Add note to a monitor object

I'm offering a feature request to add a text box for notes in every monitoring service.

This will allow us to enter some details about the monitor or set a URL for a KB article that explains the problem and its resolution.

Thank you.

Re: Add note to a monitor object

Dear Orel,

You can update your notes for an outage of a monitor from the outage tab in monitor details page.

Navigate to the monitor details page you want to update notes for > goto outage tab (this tab will be available for all monitors),

Here you will the list all the outages that have occurred for the selected time period.

Click on any outage, a recent comment popup will appear. You can update the notes in that comment section.

The same will be reflected in the Updates section in the summary tab of any monitor details page

The same will be reflected in the Alarms details page, when the monitor is having a problem. You can view or update the comments from there as well. You can do so by navigating from Alarms tab > select the monitor to the updated > update / view the comments from there. Since this is an ongoing outage, you can view previous comments so that it will be helpful for resolving the issue.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any clarifications related to this.

Re: Re: Add note to a monitor object

Thank you Jasper for the professional step-by-step guide.
But I meant to have an option to set a comment to every monitor object and not per outage.

The idea is to set a comment with KB URL so, in case of an outage, our technicians will enter the problematic monitoring service and enter the KB URL that will explain the technicians the required steps to mitigate the problem.

Thank you.

Thank you for your kind words, Orel. At the monitor level , you can use the notes which is available in the Inventory tab of every monitor object.  You can update the notes in this space with your KB url and explain technicians.

Let me know if this will help.

Brilliant Jasper.

Thank you.

Now for the next step...
We use Slack integration with the 'Third-Party Integrations' feature to receive some alerts.
Is there a way to get Slack notification with the Inventory Note content?
