We've several sub-domains accessed from our main site and the way we have to include the RUM client causes some of these sub-domains to be monitored. Some of these domains, or specific pages within the domain, we do not want to monitor. Some or parts of these domains, that we do not want to monitor, are consuming RUM page views.
It would be great if we could exclude some of these sub-domains from being monitored by RUM. Having a central storage of exclusions/inclusion would be better than making code adaptations varying client implementation.

You can do it yourself actually.
In javascript you can do an if statement saying
if (document.location.hostname == "example.com") {
//Enter RUM Code here
}
i do the same thing, plus I added a thing to only get 25% of the users instead of a full 100% since we have so many pageviews.
Edit: I just noticed you said you didn't want to make code adaptations. So I see how this feature would be nice for a centralized location of all inclusions and exclusions.

Thanks for raising this request.
Option to exclude few file extensions from RUM script is under development. We will keep this post updated once done.

Raji.

Thanks for the update Raji.
From your response, in the future RUM will be able to exclude some/few file extensions. That would certainly be helpful and a nice addition.
My request was for excluding certain pages and/or domains from being monitored by RUM. Is that something being discussed?
Thanks,
Thomas

Yes Thomas.
We are also planning to give option to exclude certain pages or domains. It will be in the format of some regex skip patterns.
