Persistent Trouble Notifications.

I would like to receive persistent alert notifications should any volume on a server exceed the specified utilization threshold.  So, for example, if the usage of a volume on a server exceeds 85% capacity, I would receive an application and e-mail alert every day or every hour until the condition is cleared.  We are trying to replace an on-prem Nagios server with Site24x7 and continual, almost nagging alerts/notifications is a must.

Re: Persistent Trouble Notifications.

Hi Ronald,

We already have the feature 'Persistent Trouble Notification' to get alerted until the errors are rectified for your down/trouble monitors. The number of persistent notifications for a monitor for a downtime is 30.

Please follow the below steps to configure a persistent trouble notification for your server monitors:

1. Login and go to Server > Server Monitor > Servers > click on the server monitor to which you want to set up this notification.

2. Hover on the hamburger icon beside the monitor display name and click Edit.

3.  Under Configuration Profiles, click on the pencil icon beside Notification Profiles.

3. In the Edit Notification Profile window, click on the drop down under Persistent Notification and select Notify on every error

4. Save your changes.

With this setting, you will be continuously alerted, thus generating frequent alerts.

Hope this fulfills your requirements. Let us know for further specifications or queries, if any.

Thanks!

Re: Re: Persistent Trouble Notifications.

Hello!

Thank you very much for the reply and my apologies for not having monitored this post more closely.  Before posting this request I did indeed work with the 'Persistent Notification' feature and found that it only produces persistent notifications when a monitor is 'Down.'  If a monitor is simply in 'Trouble', the persistent notifications do not occur.  After working with Technical Support, they suggested I add "Persistent Trouble Notifications/Reminders" as a Feature Request.

Basically if, as an example, a disk were getting full thus triggering a 'Trouble' alarm, I would like to receive reminders of this 'Trouble' alarm once or so a day.

Thanks!

Ron

Hi Ronald,

We have enhanced the feature 'Persistent Notifications' for Trouble alert, which we have already released. Please test the same.

Thanks for bringing this up, we will add this as a feature request in our road map.

Muralikrishnan

That is great news, Muralikrishnan!  I will begin testing as soon as possible.  Also, thank you very much for adding the daily (or so) reminder feature (or perhaps report?) on your roadmap.  I look forward to utilizing it in future releases.

Sincerely,

Ron
